Photo Cropping Do's and Dont's

While taking photographs of people big and small there are a dozen thing that you may be trying to remember as you look for the best composition, light, background, posing, or waiting for your shot to happen, settings on your camera, focusing, etc. One thing you may not think about is cropping.

Should you happen to forget about cropping you may end up ruining what could have been a fantastic shot. While I believe that rules are made to be broken and often times great photos can happen by breaking the "rules" of photography. When photographing people these rules are ones you'll want to stick with as they will make for better pictures that are pleasing to the eye.

If you can find a way to memorize this picture you will thank yourself later. I have had many pictures look "not right" and this is why. Follow these guidelines of cropping where the green lines are and never cropping where the red lines are.
