Not one of the most amazing sunsets I've seen at Lake Powell but still gorgeously golden. Love the color and the silhouettes of the rocky shoreline.

Lake Powell View
An old favorite shot from the top of one of Lake Powell's bluffs/cliffs/mountains. Not sure what to call them. This was shot in the mid afternoon right before a rainstorm hit. The water was calm, the sky cloudy, and the hike quite cool for Lake Powell.

Lake Powell Storms-Rain, Rainbows, and Sunsets
Grateful to have made it to the beach by the time this storm came in we were able to watch the water change color before our eyes.
The rain came down in heavy sheets and lasted for what seemed like the entire afternoon. It was such a strange storm that no one seemed to mind. Huddled under a small shade canopy we were all quickly drenched from the side downpour but were rewarded in the end with a rainbow above the lake and an amazing sunset with the largest clouds I've ever seen. The storm moved on past us but no one seemed to notice as we were all entranced by the colors from the Lake.

Photography-Lake Powell at Dusk
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Because that is so very true I don't have much to say here. A cool evening breeze after a long hot day on the lake, a beautiful sky, and the soft glow of flames from tiki torches marking your camp site on the long stretch of beach. One could easily get used to a life of leisure on the Lake.

Photography of Antelope Canyon
Antelope Canyon is definitely one of the most jaw dropping places I have ever seen. A short drive from the outskirts of Lake Powell and Page Arizona you would never know these gorgeous views awaited you unless you knew exactly where to look. A Native American tour guide took us through this canyon and while the sun baked the sand outside at over 100 degrees with one step into this canyon the temperature dropped significantly and we enjoyed a cool walk with breathtaking scenery.
Different colors and shadows present themselves throughout the day as the sun moves across the sky. I look forward to walking through this canyon again in the afternoon to see the images waiting to be captured. Enjoy!

Antelope Canyon
The last few shots of summer...If you have the opportunity to go the Antelope Canyon just outside of Page, Arizona I would suggest you take it. Depending upon the time of day you are in the canyon the light changes and will give you completely different shadows, angles, and light. We were there in the morning but I've heard that the afternoon is amazing as well. It is very worth the trip.
